Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) unveiled the arrival of two Post-Panamax Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and six Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes at the Shuwaikh Port on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The momentous occasion was witnessed by key KGL Executives as well as distinguished guests both from the public and private sectors.

The project is considered one of the major infrastructure contracts approved by the KPA aimed at boosting the country’s economy.  The two Post-Panamax STS cranes will contribute immensely to the efficient operations in the Shuwaikh Port. Upon completion of the contract by March 2012 and the arrival of four more Post-Panamax Cranes, the capacity at Shuwaikh Container will reach to over 1,000,000 TEUs per year.

KGL PI organized a trip to selected media newspapers and TV who rode along the Catamaran "Ameer Al Kouloub" to welcome the vessel in Kuwait waters.
