KGL Shipping, a subsidiary of KGL Holding, was established in 2008. The company is set to complement the Supply Chain Management effort by further developing KGL Holding as a name to be recognized in combined transportation solutions. Being headquartered in Kuwait, KGL Shipping is fully operational within Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, through its subsidiary, RAK Shipping.
The company is involved in two main business practices, those being, the transportation of passengers through fast ferries and the transportation of cargo, through the feeder vessel activities carried out by RAK Shipping.
In terms of passenger transport, “Ameer Al Kouloub” was launched in July of 2008, as a high speed Catamaran capable of hosting over 360 passengers and 10 mid-sized vehicles. Within the first six months of operation, “Ameer Al Kouloub” has been able to capture over 75% of the market share, portraying the advantages the Catamaran has to offer as opposed to its main competitors in the market.
The cargo transportation business of KGL Shipping is carried out by RAK Shipping. The company is involved in the transport of containers and cargo within the MENA region providing a competitive and cost efficient platform for its clients.
