KGL Shipping Compnay launches the Catamaran " Ameer Al Koloub".
Under the patronage of the Minister of Defense, Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah, and the presence of the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Abdulla Saoud Al Muhailbi, acting on behalf of the Minister of Defense, KGL Shipping, a subsidiary of Kuwait and Gulf Link Holding Company k.s.c, officially launched the “Ameer Al Kouloub” vessel Catamaran in Mina Shuwaikh. The esteemed name, “Ameer Al Kouloub”, was given in the memory of the late Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, to maintain the memory and respect that is to be preserved.
Not only did the day mark the launch of the Catamaran, but it also marked KGL Shipping as the holder of one of the fastest passenger transport Catamaran within the Gulf region, bringing new light to the tourism industry in Kuwait. The operational aspect of the Catamaran is currently being managed and supervised by Combined Shipping Company, also a subsidiary of KGL Holding.
“Ameer Al Kouloub” is now marked in history as the first passenger sea travel Catamaran in Kuwait to operate scheduled trips to the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as trips to Mina Abadan and Bushehr of Iran, providing one round trip every week for each route, with the possibility of having additional trips per week in the future.
The Catamaran is equipped with the highest safety standards, having life boats sufficient enough to cover all passengers on board. Empowered with ability of reaching speeds of up to 35 knots, the Catamaran never fails to impress as it is equipped with the most up to date advanced technology. Regardless of the high speeds that it embarks, the Catamaran was built with “Wave Piercing” technology designed to ultimately minimize the impact of waves during high tides, providing a smooth experience for passengers on board.
The size of the Catamaran is 52 meters long and 14 meters wide, having a depth of 1.8 meters. The Catamaran enjoys unique technical specifications, whether it is the high speed or safety standards on one end, or the extreme luxury on the other side.
Within the Catamaran, passengers have the variety of choosing from three different classes to enjoy: Economy, First Class, and VIP cabins (enabling added privacy for families and business executives), as well seating areas equipped to meet the requirements for individuals with special needs. All classes of the Catamaran feature one main attribute, that is, a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea through the large glass windows found throughout the Catamaran.
In total, the passenger capacity of the Catamaran is 366, notably exemplifying its strength and spacious environment. In addition to the many passenger features included, the Catamaran enables passengers to bring their vehicles along on board.
Passengers are always kept at ease and can enjoy a piece of mind as the highly trained and experienced crew members are among the elite in the Middle East, having their expertise on modern Catamarans in the Mediterranean sea, the Red Sea, and the Pacific Ocean, placing them at a class of their own.
“Ameer Al Kouloub” was designed and built by Damen, a Dutch company which is one of the largest specialized in producing high speed Catamarans (Catamaran) in the world. |
