KGL History
Our Journey to Success
Our journey began in 1956 through the establishment of Dashti Construction Co. W.L.L by Mr. Esmail Dashti, excelling in Construction and Stevedoring operations within Kuwait. Subsequently, the company expanded its operations into a full range of transportation services.
In 1982, the stevedoring and transportation operations were spun-off as Kuwait & Gulf Link Transport Company (KGL). The company continued its expansion regionally into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (K.S.A) in 1985, where it started its Stevedoring operations in Jubail, Yanbuh and Jeddah ports. Moreover, the company continued to gain its esteemed reputation in transporting cargo, including that of mega EPS projects.
The 1980’s marked the Kuwaiti Municipality privatization of waste collection operations, enabling KGL to become one of the largest and most efficient service providers within this sector. Despite the fast paced expansion within these years, Kuwait was invaded by Iraq in the early 1990’s, bringing KGL business to its deepest downfall since its founding.
